Q Do you have a portfolio of your work that I can view?
A Yes -our full portfolio is available here.
Q Can you design a custom cake to match my theme, dress or color scheme?
A We love to create custom designs for our clients. Please bring us anything that inspires you and we will work with you to make the perfect dessert.
Q If I provide a picture of what I like, can you re-create it? Does custom design cost extra?
A Yes, please share pictures of anything you like! As a rule, we do not like to make EXACT duplicates of other cake artists’ designs and claim they are our own. We will get as close as we possibly can! Custom designs may cost more if they include hand crafted pieces, fresh flowers. special ribbons, rhinestones & toppers, etc.
Q If I have an old family cake recipe, can you adapt it for my cake?
A We would love to! Please provide the recipe 3-4 weeks before the date of the event so we have time to test it and make sure that it works on a larger scale.
Q If I don’t have a clear vision of what I would like, can you offer some design ideas based on my theme/budget?
A Absolutely - after our initial consultation, we will come up with a number of options for you to choose from. From there, we can build your ideal cake.

Q What type of ingredients do you use?
A We use only the freshest ingredient, especially locally sourced fruits and vegetable where we can.
Q Do you do both fondant & buttercream designs?
A Yes - we work with both, and can certainly recommend our choice for your design.
Q Can you create sugar paste, gum paste, fondant or chocolate flowers?
A We love to create beautiful flowers and figurines - note that these take extra time and care, and are subject to an additional charge.
Q If I decide that I want fresh flowers on my cake, will you work with my florist, or work to obtain the flowers yourself?
A We can work with your florist, or call our own trusted local vendor.
Q I'm getting married! Will you preserve the top tier of my cake for my first wedding anniversary or do you provide a special cake for the occasion?
A Eat that whole thing! When you purchase your wedding cake with us, we will also provide a special 6" cake for your first anniversary. This can be a duplicate of the original design, or something totally new. You may choose to upgrade to a larger cake for a small fee.
Q Can you make a groom’s cake? Is it priced the same as my wedding cake?
A Definitely! We have created cakes of all kinds, from sports themes, to airplanes, to a t-bone steak! The groom's cake is priced the same as the wedding cake.
Q How much in advance is the wedding cake actually made? Do you freeze your cakes?
A Cakes are made 2-3 days before the event. Our cakes are always fresh - never frozen!
Q Do you have tastings? Is there a charge?
A You can arrange for a cake tasting any time! You may select any 4 flavors you like, or leave it up to us. There is a $25 fee, which will be deducted from your final cost if you book the cake with us.
Q How do you price cakes? Does cost vary depending on design & flavors I choose?
A Cakes are priced per serving. Specialty toppers, flowers, and intricate designs may be subject to an additional fee.
Q Do you offer dessert tables or candy buffets? Are there event packages, or are these priced a la carte?
A We love creating fabulous tablescapes to display or scrumptious desserts. We will work with you to create the perfect package. Sweets are priced a la carte.
Q What is your minimum per-person cake cost?
A Basic buttercream cakes start at $3.00 per serving. Basic fondant cakes start at $5.00 per serving.
Q What recommendations can you give me to maximize my budget?
A When planning a large party, we would recommend that you get your custom designed cake in a smaller size, and supplement with cupcakes or sheet cakes, which have a lower per-person cost.
Q What are your fees for delivery/set-up of cake?
A Delivery starts at $25, depending on distance.
Q What do you do if cake gets damaged in transit to or at my reception site?
A Bumps and bruises happen - traffic patterns, road conditions, weather are always taken into account when we deliver a cake. Sometimes, damage is unavoidable. In case of emergency, we always travel with an kit to make small repairs and fix minor structural issues. If the cake is damaged beyond repair, you may be eligible for a refund, minus the cost of ingredients + delivery.
Q Do you provide or rent cake toppers/cake knife/cake stands?
A Yes, toppers, cake knives, and stands are available for sale or rental for your event. Custom stands and toppers can be created to suit your needs. Rental fees vary by item. A deposit is required for rental, and will be returned when they are returned in the same condition after the event. Rentals must be returned within 72 hours, unless otherwise stated in your contract.
Q Do you accommodate dietary restrictions - i.e. gluten free, dairy free, vegan?
A Yes, we can accommodate both gluten-free and dairy-free. Vegan recipes can be assessed on a case by case basis, and require some lead time for us to test them.
Q What type of decor can you provide for table?
A Table linens, candles, etc are available for cake display tables. Tell us your colors/theme and we can create a tablescape.
Q Do you offer upgrades such as chocolate fountains, s’mores bars, specialty displays?
A Chocolate fountains, s'mores bars, etc are available for an additional fee. These will be negotiated when planning your event.
Q How far in advance should I order my cake?
A Wedding Cakes should be ordered approximately 6 months before the event. This will ensure we do not double book your date. Additionally, you will also allow plenty of time for tastings & design consultation.
Dessert tables & candy buffets should be booked at least 2 weeks before the event.
Other Birthday & special occasion cakes can be ordered 1-2 weeks before the event.
Q What is the last date for final guest count?
A Final guest count should be confirmed 2-4 weeks before the event.
Q When can I expect a contract from you?
A Once final details are confirmed, you should expect a contract and follow-up email including all discussed details, as well as outstanding questions, within 24-48 hours.
Q How much is required as deposit to hold my date?
A A 25% deposit is required to hold a date.
Q When is the final payment due?
A Final payment is due 2 weeks before weddings / dessert table orders, 1 week before birthdays & other occasions. If this is problematic, please do not hesitate to ask us to create a payment plan, or arrange another due date.
Q Do you accept credit cards?
A Yes, we accept credit card payment via Square or Chase Quickpay.
Q What is your refund policy if for some reason I need to cancel my order?
A Wedding cake / dessert tables cancelled one month or more from the event date will receive their full deposit back. One month-1 week before the event date will receive 50% of their deposit back. Less than one week will not receive any refund.
